Whenever we make a choice we renounce something..."like a king renouncing a conquered kingdom"...he has chosen something else...to travel alone?
When I decide to sit I renounce complacency.
What about the elephant? I do not know that story?

Thank you for such a reminder that complacency is renounced...and how hard that is to let go of...like this king who let go of a conquered kingdom...thank you.

All I know is that MAtanga was an elephant that had difficult living with the herd so went off alone...the elephant is revered in buddhist lore...for the footprint of the elephant holds the footprint of all other beings...

From what I have read....elephants stay in the herd unless they are ill...

While every human being needs alone time...our function is with the herd.

Hmmmm????
